Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting - HLTAID012
Information about the course: This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a person in the Education and Care industry/setting. The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, Target Audience: This unit applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. This unit of competency will contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulation (2011). This unit of competency has been approved by ACECQA and meets the requirements of “First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis”. The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that this training be refreshed every 3 years. Pre-requisites: There are no pre-requisites for this course Award issued: Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded a statement of attainment for: HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting. HLTAID011 Provide First Aid HLTAID009 Provide CPR This Nationally recognised course is delivered on behalf of and in Partnership with Health Security Education RTO 40907 Course duration: Face to Face: 10 hours face to face training Important information regarding course durations: Course duration's, as mentioned above, are reflective of group sizes of between 4 and 12 participants. If there are less students in a group, you may find course duration reduced. If a class size exceeds 12 participants it may therefore also be necessary to increase course duration depending on the number of participants.
