Gas Test Atmospheres - MSMWHS217

​Information about the course:
This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to test workplace atmospheres using electronic gas detection equipment and determine whether an area is safe for the proposed work.

It includes:
  • inspecting and using gas detection equipment;
  • testing and monitoring atmospheric conditions;
  • interpreting gas detector readings;
  • responding appropriately to unsafe readings; and
  • basic care and maintenance of gas detection equipment.

Target Audience:
Anyone who may be required to test or monitor workplace atmospheres as part of their work, including before or during confined space entry, hot work or permit-controlled activities.

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment for:
